Thank you for coming to visit MK Unique Designs. I hope you find what you’re looking for. We offer a wide range of products from ready to use hunting and game calls to parts and woods to make your own. We also have a variety of fibers and yarns for the fiber artists in your life. We are continually searching for new and unique items to add to our store so if you don’t see something that you need or want please feel free to contact us.
We stand behind our products so if you are not satisfied with your purchase please feel free to contact us, so we can make it right. We attempt to tune each call before it leaves the shop but occasionally one gets away or gets knocked around in the box before getting to you. We have also found that there is sometimes a learning curve with a new call and we’ll gladly speak with you over the phone to give you pointers and tips on getting the best sounds possible.
In the fiber section you’ll find a wide range of fibers to meet your needs and special orders are always welcome. I work with a company that will make unique blends just for you so if you are looking for that something special let us know. I also have access to many yarn bases and will be more than happy to see what’s available for your next dye project. I can usually have larger quantities shipped within about a week from our supplier.
MK Unique Designs came about as a way for my husband Mark (hunting/game calls) and myself (everything else) to give back to our community. Mark became disabled after losing his hip and the ability to walk to a life-threatening illness. During his recovery he discovered that he loved turning wood and making hunting and game calls. He also believes that it is his mission to “feed the hungry people”. We donate 10% of our sales to our local ERMA food pantry through our church – Port Republic United Methodist Church. Our goal is to feed as many people as possible in a hope that no one goes hungry.
I have always loved fiber and crafting learning to crochet at age 10 while growing up in a small town in Georgia. Mrs. Booker of the “five and dime” store would sit with me behind the cash register and show me how to crochet grannie squares. After that I was hooked on anything to do with fiber and material.
We invite you to come along with us as we build and grow.
